Be Ready Community Development Corporation
Be Ready Community Development Corporation (Be Ready CDC) is a resident-driven community development organization founded in 2003 by the late Lottie Lee-Davis to revitalize the Hilltop neighborhood in Wilmington’s West Side.

For over 15 years, Be Ready CDC has promoted community and economic development through after-school and summer enrichment programs, a food bank, youth leadership development, entrepreneurship training, and transitional housing for re-entry and homeless families.

We partner with the Food Bank of Delaware to bring residents fresh food, including produce and meats.

Solomon's Court

Be Ready CDC is developing Solomon’s Court at the corner of W. 4th St. and Rodney St. The project will create a total of 18 affordable rental units and 5600 sq. ft. of ground floor commercial space for small businesses. The project is being built in two phases which will be linked functionally and through complementary design, resulting in a unified three-story development that promotes equitable development and is a transformative addition to Fourth St, a major commercial corridor for the West Side and a gateway to downtown Wilmington.

Join Be Ready CDC for our ribbon cutting and grand opening of Solomon’s Court on April 17, 2023 at 9:30 am! The event will take place at 1500 W. Fourth St. The event will include remarks by elected leaders and local leaders as well as a tour of the new building. All are welcome!
